TT crashes fall

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

There were fewer crashes on the Island's roads during TT this year than in 2009.

Police figures show there were 86 collisions over the past fortnight, compared with 99 last year.

On the Mountain Road, the number of crashes fell from 57 to 49.

There was one fatality and 24 slight injury collisions, the same as 2009.

However, more motorists were caught committing offences such as speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.

299 people were reported this year, compared with 237 last year.
