Warning over fake advertising offer

Police are warning of a company called Digital Jupiter contacting firms on Island to sell advertising.

A number of local businesses have reported being offered the chance to buy advertising space in the "2011 Police and Community Clubs of Great Britain Diary".

However, a spokesman for the organisation says it is no longer working with Digital Jupiter, and it doesn't produce publications on their behalf anymore.

Officers say you shouldn't release any financial details during a cold call.

More advise can be obtained from Police Headquarters or the Island's Office of Fair Trading.
