Office blaze damages shops

Topshop this morning

Considerable smoke damage has been caused to Top Shop, The Caff and Duke Street Co-op following a fire overnight.

Fire crews were called to the area following a report of a fire in the offices above Top Shop at around 3.25 this morning.

Officers say the fire spread quickly and that the true extent of the damage is unknown at this stage.

A section of pavement by Top Shop has been sealed off whilst investigations continue, although it's not thought the fire is suspicious.

No-one was injured in the blaze and Lord Street has now re-opened
