The Island's youngest competitor at the Commonwealth Games has made a strong start to the competition.

Fourteen year old archer Aalin George has been taking part in the seeding round for the compound individual 70 metre competition.

She finished 20th out of 32 entrants unofficially breaking the Manx record.

Team mate Sarah Rigby finished just a few points behind in 28th place.

In the men's competition Adrian Bruce had a disappointing round, qualifying 43rd out of a field of 48.
