Two crashes trap motorists in cars

Fri, 17 Dec 2010

The Emergency Services were called out to two crashes last night where people were trapped in their cars.

At around 10.00pm a vehicle with three people inside ended up on its roof near Ballagawne Road, trapping the occupants.

Fire crews cut them free, before an ambualance removed the trio from the scene for further treatment.

Around an hour later, it was reported that two cars had crashed at Marown Church.

One of the drivers was trapped by the steering wheel, and again fire crews had to use cutting equipment to free them.

Motorists are reminded to drive with care during wintry weather conditions, as the road surface can deteriorate rapidly
