Ice warning for those returning to work

Mon, 20 Dec 2010

Police are warning those returning to work this morning to be cautious.

Sub-zero temperatures overnight mean salt and grit will have been less effective.

Officers are still advising against all non-essential travel.

The main roads in Douglas are said to be passable with care. However police are warning that Old Castletown Road, some areas in the north and roads in Peel are still quite icy.

A number of roads remain closed, and bus vannin is operating a reduced service.

Ronaldsway is closed until 8.00am.

Full details of closures and cancellations can be found on the Energy FM Winter Action Line.
