Ice and abnormal load cause hazards for motorists this morning

Tholt y Will Road was closed until around 9.15 whilst gritters worked in the area this morning.

The route remained shut whilst the road surface was treated.

Road conditions in the area are described as poor.

Meanwhile, an abnormal load will be travelled from the Sea Terminal in Douglas this morning.

Two articulated lorries, both of which are high and wide, travelled slowly to Jurby industrial estate.

Police escorted the convoy out along Lord Street and Peel Road, following the TT Course to Ballaugh and then on to Jurby Coast Road.
