Thieves get away with cash from Shoprite

The Chief Exec of Shoprite has confirmed that thieves managed to get away with just under a thousand pounds in yesterday's burglary.

Andrew Thomas confirmed that thieves smashed a window at the front of the retailers headquarters on Victoria Road in Douglas in the early hours of Wednesday morning and the cash was taken from a desk in the reception.

Police forensics officers attended the scene but no arrests have yet been made.

This is the second burglary at a major retailer in the space of a fortnight, Thieves broke into the B&Q store in Douglas 2 weeks ago getting away with around 30,000 pounds.
