Postman called fire crews after smelling smoke

Sat, 05 Feb 2011

Fire crews were called to a flat in Castletown after the postman smelt smoke through the letterbox.

Officers were called to James Road in the Janet's Corner Estate shortly before 1.30 yesterday afternoon.

A pan had been left on the cooker, and the flat had become heavily smoke logged.

Crews spent around half an hour at the scene ventilating the property, which was empty at the time
