Staff at the local offices of Zurich have been told their jobs are safe as the company enters into talks to outsource some of its operations.

Workers were called to a meeting at the Villa Marina yesterday where they were told about the discussions with the Capita Group.

If the plans go ahead, it would mean some of the work for Zurich's Global Life business in the Island could be transferred.

A Zurich spokesperson told Energy FM News there'll be no compulsory redundancies and if some work does go to Capita then individuals will transfer with their work.

It's planned the services will still be provided from the Zurich Premises in Athol Street.
