There's still no definite word on when work will begin to develop the former bus station site in Douglas.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne was asked for an update in the House of Keys this week.

The land on Lord Street is set to be developed into a four-star hotel with apartments and shop units.

However, several years after the government gave the contract to Askett Hawk Developments, no work has started.

Mr Gawne told the Keys an agreement has been reached and the DOI is waiting for feedback from other government departments.

The Minister was unable to say when development may start and said it could still go back to the drawing board if the plans aren't agreed.

There was criticism of Askett Hawk from several members including Michael MHK David Cannan..[play clip]
