Tears of joy from young mum who's told she won't be evicted

Douglas Council has had a change of heart after telling a young mum she must leave her home following the death of her father.

Stevie-Lea Evans lives in a Douglas Corporation property in Pulrose.

Her dad died at the house last year, but Stevie-Lea and her fiancee kept paying the rent.

They had a baby last month but their daughter was born prematurely and has been too ill to leave hospital.

Douglas Council originally told the couple they would be evicted on 29th April.

However, following a special meeting today, the 19 year old was told she can stay at the house.[Play audio file below]
