Young mum looks forward to bringing daughter home

Thu, 14 Apr 2011

A teenage mum has spoken of her relief after Douglas Council changed its mind over evicting her from her home.

Nineteen year old Stevie-Lea Evans was told she had to leave her house as she was no longer eligible to live there, following her father's death last year.

Douglas Council held a meeting yesterday, where it announced she would be allowed to stay in the house.

Just weeks after her father died, Miss Evans found out she was pregnant, and gave birth prematurely last month.

Since then her daughter has remained in hospital receiving treatment.

Miss Evans says the baby girl is doing well now, and she's looking forward to bringing her home [play clip]
