Charity cycle duo ahead of schedule

Fri, 27 May 2011

A pair of cyclists riding from the Island to Greece are expecting to finish their journey a week ahead of schedule.

Kit Alexander and Johnny Howe are raising money for the Island's Hyperbaric Chamber and Help for Heroes.

They're aiming for the Island of Zakynthos, where Kit sustained a sporting injury to his knee which required surgery.

Following the surgery, he contracted septic arthritis, and needed nine further operations and numerous sessions in the hyperbaric chamber to recover.

This week the duo arrived in Rome, and expect to reach Zakynthos by the end of next week.

Between them they're aiming to raise around £8000, and Kit says they're already well on their way to that total [play clip]

The pair are updating their blog throughout the trip
