£1.15million waste site planned for north

Thu, 02 Jun 2011

Plans for a £1.15million waste site in the north of the Island will go before Tynwald this month.

The Department of Infrastructure wants to build a new Northern Civic Amenity Site at Balladoole Farm.

The new facility would be closer to the main population in the north, and allow residents to reuse, recycle and dispose of household waste.

The plans were granted planning permission earlier this year, and would be fully functional by April next year.

It's estimated that the construction and development of the site would cost £1.15million.

Tynwald will vote on the proposals during this month's sitting
