Thousands head to Noble's Park for Elton gig

Thu, 16 Jun 2011

Around 9,000 people are heading to the Elton John concert in Noble's Park tonight.

It's the first time Elton has performed here and he's only making a flying visit.

The star will be arriving on the Island in a private jet, complete with his staff including hair and make up people.

He's due on stage at 7.30 and will be flying straight back out again afterwards to join his band and continue his current tour of Germany.

(It has been confirmed now that the concert starts at 7.30pm, after one of the ticket agents gave a different start time.)

Gridlock is expected later in Douglas as the people flock to gig.

Parking is on site and police will be out in the area to manage traffic.

They're asking people to avoid taking their cars if possible.

Those who aren't going to the concert are asked to avoid using roads in the area if they can.
