Thu, 14 Jul 2011

Some of the Island's main attractions made losses of £12m during the last financial year.

Figures have been given in Tynwald showing the deficits of DCCL facilities and services

The biggest loser was the bus services at nearly £6m.

The Steam Railways and Electric Trams combined accrued losses just short of £3m.

The National Sports Centre was propped up by the tax payer to a tune of £1.3m - and it was a similar figure for the Villa Gaeity.

MLC David Callister tabled the question for written answer from Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney.
