Bowl stadium is a 'legacy for the next generation'

Tue, 02 Aug 2011

Described as a legacy for future generations the refurbished Bowl Stadium is now official open.

King George IV park in Douglas has had a £3m makeover ahead of the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Community Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney officially opened the stadium at lunchtime, describing it as the final piece of the NSC jigsaw.

After the games it will be available for hire to local sports clubs and the Isle of Man Football Association will use it as our national stadium.

Vice President Steven Carter says it's a terrific facility.[take cut]
