Thu, 18 Aug 2011

It's a headline we've got to used hearing over the past few years - but A level results on the Island are again among the best ever.

A pass rate of 97.8% is the second highest on record.

A record number of students completed A levels this year and received their results today.

Figures out from the Department of Education show there were more passes at the higher grades from A* to B.

The number of UCAS points per entry was the 3rd highest ever acheived.

Director of Education Martin Barrow says the vast majority of students have got into their first or second choice universities.[Play media file below]
