First Manx Grand Prix practice this evening

Sat, 20 Aug 2011

This year's Manx Grand Prix begins today, when the newcomers take to the course for the first time.

Organisers say this year has seen an increase in first time entrants, and numbers overall.

As a result, practice will get underway earlier than in previous years this evening.

Roads are due to close around the Snaefell Mountain Course at 5.00pm, with the first bikes setting of from the Grandstand 20 minutes later.

The newcomers will be followed by the Senior, Junior and SuperTwin classes at 5.45pm.

The remaining classes go at 7.00pm.

All of tonight's laps will be untimed, and are due to be completed by 8.10pm
