Passengers shocked by smashed taxi window

Police are appealing for witnesses after a window in a taxi was smashed, covering the occupants in glass.

The silver Renault Traffic mini bus style taxi was carrying a woman and two children up Broadway in Douglas when the incident happened at around 6.45 yesterday evening.

The taxi was waiting to turn right onto Victoria Road when it was struck by an object which smashed a rear window.

None of the taxi's occupants were injured, although they were very shocked.

Officers are keen to trace two boys aged 12 to 14 who were stood on a wall at Glen Falcon Gardens, and ran off after the damage occurred.

Anyone who saw what happened is urged to contact Police Headquarters.
