Access to reservoirs may be banned if dogs aren't controlled

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Public access could be banned from the Island's reservoirs if people continue to let their dogs swim in the water or foul in the surrounding areas.

The threat has been issued by the Water and Sewage Authority.

It says it is committed to promoting reasonable access to reservoirs for public recreation and enjoyment.

However, it says it won't hesitate to put a ban in place if the quality of the raw water resource is compromised in any way.

The Authority says it's your drinking water: Please look after it.
