Views sought on tax relief plans

Wed, 07 Sep 2011

The public is being asked for its opinions on the personal allowance credit.

The credit is paid to those with low incomes.

The Treasury wants to hear what people think of the system, and how it could be changed in the future.

It's also seeking views on allowing a tax break for those providing rental accommodation in their own homes.

It's hoped the idea would help those on fixed incomes, as well as providing more housing on the Island.

Anyone wishing to comment on the consultations has until the end of October.

Views can be sent in the post to the Government Offices, or emailed to consultation@itd.treasury.gov.im
