The Isle of Man has a new Chief Minister.

Ramsey MHK Allan Bell takes the top job in the Manx Government.

27 politicians voted in favour of Mr Bell in Tynwald this morning.

Liberal Vannin Party Leader Peter Karran received three votes.

There were two spoilt papers.

Mr Bell was nominated by Ayre member Eddie Teare, and seconded by new Rushen MHK Laurence Skelly

Mr Karran's nominator Kate Beecroft and seconder Zac Hall were interrupted a number of time by members unhappy with the speeches, resulting in the Onchan member threatening to withdraw from the election.

Mr Bell hopes the Tynwald members can all work together over the next five years [play clip]
