The Government is to re-assess the impact of introducing a Freedom of Information act on the Island before continuing work to bring the legislation in.

Chief Minister Allan Bell believes previous assessments of how much the Act will cost aren't accurate.

Mr Bell says the Council of Ministers needs to look into the costs of the legislation further.

The Chief Minister says a similar act in Jersey cost million to bring in, and costs around a million pounds a year to maintain.

He believes in the current financial climate, bringing such laws in without further consideration could be damaging [play clip]
