Cyclists urged to be vigilant following bicycle thefts

Police are urging bicycle owners to be more vigilant following a spate of thefts.

Over the last two months a number of push bikes have been stolen, mainly from apartment blocks along Douglas promenades.

Thieves have been getting into the underground car parks at Spectrum Apartments, Century Court Apartments and Millennium Court Apartments and removing combination locks before taking the bicycles.

The thefts have involved a range of bikes, of both high and low value.

Officers are recommending cyclists ensure a good quality lock is fitted to their bike.
