Shimmin reveals roles for DED political members

Economic Development Minister John Shimmin has announced which politicians will take charge of the different sectors within his Department.

Mr Shimmin will be in charge of e-gaming, one of the fastest growing sectors on the Island.

MLC Alex Downie will be responsible for the aircraft and shipping registries, as well as space and the Information Systems Divisions.

Geoff Corkish will continue as the political member for Tourism and Motorsport. He's also Chairman of the Isle of Man Post Office.

The financial services and companies registry will be headed by Alan Crowe.

New MHK Laurence Skelly has been given responsibility for a number of areas including retail, film, e-commerce and clean-tech.

The Minister says the political members will work to achieve economic growth and future success for the Island
