Manx driving instructors could be able to work in UK

Tue, 29 Nov 2011

Isle of Man qualified driving instructors may soon be able to work in the UK without having to take a further test.

Currently, Manx instructors have to take an examination before they are able to work in Britain.

No such restriction applies to UK instructors working on the Island.

Five work permits have been issued for driving instruction over the last two years.

Until recent years, the Manx test hasn't included a hazard perception test.

Now that it does, Infrastructure Minister David Cretney says there could be a change to the current rules [play clip]
