Roadworks to begin on section of the TT course

Wed, 28 Mar 2012

Roadworks are underway to repair a stretch of the TT course where a section of the road has subsided.

Cracks have been appearing at Glen Lough Dip in Glen Vine over recent years, despite work being carried out on the surface of the carriageway.

An underlying problem has now been found with the embankment which supports the road.

Preliminary work is being carried out there at the moment, with the main scheme getting underway from 2nd April.

One lane will have to be closed during the repairs and temporary traffic lights will be in operation.

There's also a need close the road fully during resurfacing and further details will be announced about this nearer the time.

The work is due to be finished in early May, in plenty of time for the TT.
