Extra patrols on TT course as more bikes take to roads

Sat, 07 Apr 2012

There's to be an increased police presence around the TT course between now and the start of this year's races.

As the warmer weather approaches, more motorbikes take to the Island's roads, particularly at the weekends.

As a result, the Roads Policing Unit and Department of Infrastructure are launching the Mountain Safe Campaign.

It aims to raise awareness of the extra traffic, particularly on the Mountain Course.

Bikers who are taking their machines out for the first time this year are urged to check their machine before taking to the roads to make sure it is in good working order.

Police will have extra patrols around the course every weekend until TT, whilst the fire service's new Fire Bike will also be touring the Island.
