Inquest to resume into fatal sidecar crash

Tue, 17 Apr 2012

An inquest into the deaths of a sidecar crew during last year's TT practices will continue this week.

67 year old Bill Currie from Ellesmere Port and his passenger 59 year old Kevin Morgan from Shrewsbury crashed at Ballacrye on 31st May.

Mr Currie was an experienced racer who first competed in the TT in 1969, when he finished 3rd.

Mr Morgan made his TT debut in 1984.

During initial investigations into the tragedy, police impounded another machine which was suspected of leaking oil onto the circuit.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham will hold the inquiry at Douglas Courthouse from 10 o'clock on Thursday morning.
