DED releases further details on MGP proposals

Tue, 08 May 2012

The government says proposed changes to the Manx Grand Prix will provide a training ground for future TT riders and newcomers to the Mountain Circuit.

The Department of Economic Development has released further details about the potential new race programme for 2013.

There would be three races for classic machines and two modern bike classes held over the August bank holiday weekend.

There would be five evening practice sessions, beginning from Saturday 17th August.

The department says the programme has been designed to ensure competitors receive the optimum amount of track time and value for money, as well as reducing the impact on local businesses and residents.

Entries for all classes would be open to any ACU registered rider with a maximum of 90 starters per race.
