MHK asks for details on Ritalin use

Fri, 18 May 2012

An MHK is to ask the Health Minister about the number of Ritalin users on the Island.

South Douglas member Kate Beecroft says UK figures show the number of people using the drug there has increased four fold in the last decade, and wants to know if this is mirrored on the Isle of Man.

It's most commonly used to treat those with ADHD.

Mrs Beecroft also wants to know if there is any reason for the increases.

David Anderson will answer her questions in next week's House of Keys sitting.
