Serious accident at Alpine

Another serious road traffic collision has caused a further road closure in the west of the Island this afternoon.

It happened at Alpine near to Bishop’s Court just before 12pm.

No further details are available at this time, however the road has been closed from Ballaugh Bridge to Douglas Road Corner in Kirk Michael.

Motorists have been asked to find an alternative route as access from Douglas Road is for Kirk Michael residents only.

Buses serving the area, services five and six, are being diverted.

Those buses leaving Douglas will run to Peel and Kirk Michael car park only, before turning around and returning to Douglas via Peel.

Buses from Ramsey will run to Ballaugh only and return to Ramsey.
