Highways Director says no choice but to close Mountain Road for repairs

The Director of Highways has told ENERGY FM the Mountain Road must be closed for repair work during TT.

On Tuesday the Mountain was closed for four hours ahead of yesterday’s races.

The Department of Infrastructure has said this was for essential repair work – in order to keep motorists and professional riders safe.

Richard Pearson said the department often has no choice but to close the road – despite it being an inconvenience to some:
