Drug report doesn't reflect reality says Minister

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

The Home Affairs Minister says claims in a report over the use of cocaine on the Island are nonsense.

The United Nations document puts the Island at the top of the world table for use of the class A drug.

The figures it uses are from the ESPAD survey which Island teenagers took part in several years ago.

That study did produce worrying statistics on drug and alcohol use among young people in the Isle of Man.

However, Juan Watterson says this latest report has used the data from ESPAD inaccurately.[play media file]
