Minister wants to stop abuse of disabled parking spaces

Sat, 28 Jul 2012

The Infrastructure Minister believes unlawful use of disabled parking spaces has gone on for too long - and his department is now making moves to tackle the problem.

From next month there'll be a new fixed penalty of £120 for people caught parking illegally in spaces reserved for people with disabilities.

It will be double the rate of a normal parking ticket.

David Cretney says he's been hearing complaints for a number of years.[play media file below]
