Think ahead and check passports are in date

Tue, 31 Jul 2012

Anyone planning a summer holiday in the next few months has been reminded to check their passports are in date.

It’s a particularly busy time for the Island’s Passport Office with new documentation currently taking around seven weeks to process.

The public is being encouraged to plan ahead to avoid any last minute difficulties and advised not to confirm any travel arrangements until new passports are in place.

Anyone who has recently got married and is planning to change their name should renew their passport before travelling abroad as some countries won’t accept non amended passports even if you have your marriage certificate with you.
