Wed, 29 Aug 2012

A 48 year old racer from Northern Ireland lost his life during today’s SuperTwin Manx Grand Prix race.

Trevor Ferguson from County Tyrone died as a result of his injuries sustained in the accident at ‘The Nook’ on the approach to Governors Dip.

Shop owner Trevor was an experienced racer on the Mountain Course, with a personal best finish of 6th place in the 2008 Junior MGP.

Trevor was also TT and MGP star Ryan Farquhar’s uncle, and had been competing on one of Ryan’s Kawasaki’s when the incident occurred.

Harvey Garton of the Manx Motorcycle Club has branded Trevor ‘a major part of the MGP family, who loved racing around the Mountain Course’.

Trevor was married with three children and his next of kin have been informed.

The Coroner of Inquests has been notified and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
