Remember your travel insurance this winter

Mon, 12 Nov 2012  07:49

With the festive holiday season fast approaching those going to the UK are being reminded of the importance of having travel insurance.

The reciprocal health agreement between the Island and the UK covers emergency health care but not repatriation.

It now means that if uncovered and in need to emergency air transport you could be lumbered with a bill for as much as £20,000.

Health Minister David Anderson has said it is something that people need to take on board as his department are no longer in a position to offer the financial support.
