The majority of films made on the Island have not yet recouped anywhere near the investment put into them.

That finding was revealed yesterday in the House of Keys following a question about profit and loss from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare provided a breakdown of films the government had invested in under the management of CinemaNX.

Among others the figures showed that despite £9,550,000 being spent on Me and Orson Welles just over £2 million was recuperated and only £121,467 was made back on Albatross following a spend of £1,925,000.
