Public warned about anti-social house parties

Sat, 01 Dec 2012

If you’re holding a house party over the festive period you’re asked to consider your surrounding neighbours.

This is the message from the police who have a duty to attend all call outs from neighbours reporting loud music or anti-social behaviour resulting from a house party.

Under the Noise Act 2006 it is an offence to a disturbance between the times of 11pm and 7am.

In extreme cases a repeat offender can be liable to a 3 month prison sentence, and a £2,500 fine, more commonly you’d be issued with a spot fine of £100.
