Inquest into death of MGP racer to reconvene today

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

The inquest into the death of a Manx Grand Prix racer from Northern Ireland will reconvene today.

Coroner John Needham will reconvene Trevor Ferguson’s inquest at Douglas Courthouse this morning.

The 47-year-old MGP racer, who was the uncle of respected rider Ryan Farquahar, died following a crash in this year’s Supertwin Race on August 29th.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after coming off his machine at The Nook on Bemahague Road in Onchan.

A post mortem found he had died from multiple injuries.

Following the incident Farquahar confirmed his retirement from road racing with immediate effect saying he was no longer willing to take the risks involved.
