Island-wide flooding

Sat, 22 Dec 2012

Emergency services say people shouldn't travel unless absolutely necessary as flooding is reported Island-wide.
Roads and properties have been affected.
Police, fire and rescue crews and the Civil Defence have been tasked to help property owners and motorists.
Flooding at the mini-roundabout near the Isle of Man Business Park is so severe that rescue crews have had to help people who became trapped in their vehicles.
The following roads are currently closed:
Glen Darragh Road between Peel Road and Ellerslie Road.
Kewaigue Road between ATS Roundabout and Cooil Roundabout.
St Marks Road between Mullinaragher Road and Orrisdale Road junctions.
Kentraugh Road has now been closed as the river has burst its banks. Road closed between Croit y Caley and Shore Road
Richmond Hill is reduced to one lane and there are reports that Peel Road in Douglas is particularly waterlogged although it remains open at this time.
Furthermore, The Mountain Road has been closed between the Bungalow and the Creg ny Baa due to a crash.
