MHK calls for civil service to help develop Manx workers

Government may need to do more to help Manx people develop in the civil service.

That’s according to Rushen MHK Laurence Skelly who posed a question on the subject in the House of Keys yesterday.

He wanted to know how many Manx born or educated people were in the civil service and what grades they were working at.

Statistics released show that around 60 per cent of people who have declared themselves as Manx are working at trainee level, while just 36 per cent are working in senior management. 

Mr Skelly says the findings make for interesting reading:
