Post Office calls price rises 'gentle'

The chairman of the Isle of Man Post Office says he hopes people will see a rise in postal charges as a “gentle” increase.

It was announced last week that the cost of a local stamp is rising by two pence from April 2nd.

The price of a UK bound letter will go up by one penny.

The Post Office is blaming people sending less mail for the increases saying volumes have declined by nine percent in the last year.
