High risk women will be identified say health bosses

The Department of Health says protocols are in place to identify women who are at hisk risk of developing breast cancer.

It's a topic that's dominated the headlines this week after Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie revealed she'd had a double mastectomy to lower her chances of getting the disease.

On the Island health bosses are reasuring women that there are procedures in place which mean women who are deemed high risk will be seen by geneticists.

Sally Greenbrook from Breakthrough Breast Cancer has this advice for anyone who feels they might be in the at risk group:
