Benefits culture being addressed says Minister

The benefits culture in the Isle of Man is a significant problem but is being addressed.

That's the message from the Social Care Minister who announced radical changes to Jobseekers' Allowance last week.

Anyone claiming unemployment benefit for more than five months will now have to contribute to social enterprise schemes.

Mr Robertshaw recognises there is a culture of entitlement among some, but says being on Jobseekers' will no longer be a lifestyle choice:
