Hundreds to discover GCSE results

More than 800 students face a nervous wait this morning as they prepare to find out their GCSE results.

The results mark the end of two years of study in Key Stage 4 - years 10 and 11.

A full breakdown of how students fared will be released later today.

Last year the Island secured an overall pass rate of 99.1 per cent with 52 per cent of young people choosing to return to sixth form.

Paul Craine is the coordinating adviser for 11-19 education. He says students can still get back on track if they didn’t get the grades they were expecting (audio):
