Parents and staff would be consulted on term times

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

The director of education says any changes to term times in Manx schools would only happen after significant consultation with parents and staff.

Martin Barrow was speaking after the publication of a report in the UK this week that suggested the majority of parents in England would be against the idea.

Education authorities in the UK are considering allowing state schools the option to choose their own terms times from September 2015.

Authorities here have already said they’ve no immediate plans to introduce this on the island.
